Fairbanks Pioneer Park on Peger Road
Pioneer Park is a big part of the city, 40 acres big in fact. This really is a good day out for the family. Pioneer Park is a big theme park and there is lots to do.E xplore the Gold Rush Rown, go for a ride on the SS Nenana ship, or see the plants in the Pioneer Air Museum. There is also a railroad museum, a mining valley attraction and a miniature golf course.

The University of Alaska
The state's oldest university in the University of Alaska, which is located in Fairbanks, on the Yukon Drive. It is very big, very modern and very popular, with roughly 35,000 students. It was established in 1917 and is very interested in the local environment. If you do come here, check out the Museum of the North, and the views of the Tanana Valley and the city itself.

Canoeing on the Chena River in Fairbanks
If you are feeling a bit adventurous and like outdoor activities, then you might be interested in hearing about what we did. Well, we rented canoes and paddled along the Chena River. This is definitely something to do on a sunny day and there are a number of places along the riverbanks when you rent a canoe or boat. There are also a number of places where you can stop off and get a beer and a bite to eat!
